Rachel Klein is a New York City based director and director/choreographer, specializing in new play and musical development. Her commercial off-broadway success – including work with industry luminaries like Katey Sagal, Rosie O'Donnell, Bruce Vilanch, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Bonnie Milligan, Bianca Del Rio, Betty Buckley, Sharna Burgess, Frankie Grande, Randy Jones, Jenna Leigh Green, Marc Kudisch, Alison Fraser, Brooks Ashmanskas, Richard Kind, Nancy Opel, Howard McGillin, Jim Walton, Jinkx Monsoon, and more – has largely been characterized by bold, nuanced storytelling and the creation of vivid, lush, magical worlds.
Ms. Klein initially established a formidable presence in the independent theater community creating & developing original work downtown, Brooklyn, off-off Broadway, in circus spaces, rock n’roll, and night club scenes. This wealth and diversity of artistic expression is evident in her body of theatrical work, which has expanded to include multiple off-broadway productions, regional premieres, collaborations with rock n'roll luminaries such as Jeff Chimenti of Dead and Co and Graham Russell of Air Supply, and an epic musical podcast starring Adrienne Barbeau.
